Kristin Slipp

Brooklyn-based vocalist, improviser and composer Kristin Slipp is currently among the most creative emerging artists in the New York music scene. A Maine native, Slipp has performed all around North America and Europe, and has been privileged to share stages with a wide number of musicians including Ran Blake, Fred Frith, Dagmar Krause, Zeena Parkins and Carla Kihlstedt. When not touring with "avant-pop" band Cuddle Magic, in which Slipp sings, composes, and plays glockenspiel, Slipp can be seen frequently in concert with trumpet player Joe Moffett in Gleason's Twins, whose compositions are based on original poems. In the spring of 2010, Slipp was awarded a grant from the Sparkplug Foundation to record an album of jazz standards with pianist and Bar Harbor native Dov Manski. The album will be released later this year.
